Bright and breathtaking

Wave™ petunias’ trailing habit becomes even more striking when you plant them in a basket column. (That’s the coconut liner in a wire basket that sits on a post in the center of the container — visit Kinsman Company to find one that’s similar.) Spiky blue-gray dianthus adds an upright shape while English ivy and ‘Angelina’ sedum trail over the edge of the pot — just like the succulents creep over the brick path in the inspiration garden.

Because it’s slow-growing, start with a larger English ivy. When the petunia spreads too far down into the planting, go ahead and snip a few of the long stems back near the edge of the basket. This will promote fresh new growth, too. Now that you know how easy it is to care for this basket, find out exactly how to plant it ahead!
